Calallen Wildcats Challenged and win 13-10 over the Austin McCallum Knights. Wildcats stopped their dynamic duo of Lucious Henderson and WR Andre Banks, who just a week earlier had defeated Lake Travis, the #7 ranked football team in Texas, by a comeback victory in the final 20 seconds of their game, Well, the Mighty Fightin' Wildcats' defense insured it did not happen again by playing tough in the final 3 minutes. Like I always say; when the rough gets tough, it is the tough that gets rough. Fans, lets go to Victoria, on Saturday, 2 pm, and cheer the pride and joy of South Texas to Victory.

THE HIT. #53 Andrew Quillin running East at full-trottle tackles QB Lucious Henderson at the same point in time that #42 Jeff Blankenship, who was running West at twice the speed of Andrew. The jarring-explosion tackle was heard all the way to inside the Press Box. The Calallen Crowd went oooooooo, and when the dust settled, Andrew was on the turf, Lucious in the middle and Jeff on the top and Lucious appeared to have blacked-out momentarily, he released the ball, and Jeff recovered. With 1:50 left in the game, the Wildcats ran out the clock. DEFENSIVE PLAY OF THE GAME.

Introducing #42 Jeff Blankenship, Linebacker, Season 144 Tackles, needs 26 tackles to tie State Linebacker, Calallen Alumnus Michael Martinez. How about that tackle in the last minutes of the game. ooooooo! (gives me chills, goose-bumps and tremble at the thought of that hit.)

#5 Jeramie Marek receives the ball in the End Zone.	Ryan Duke, fades back, moves out of the pocket, fires -- and the receiver is a diving Bryan Farris #41. A beautiful reception and landing on his tummy. Bryan was the top receiver of the game, 63 big yards on two catches. Just outstanding, golden fingers in grasping those pigskin passes.
Good tackle by Jeff and looks like Ryan Harper.	On Knights first down, #5 Jeramie Marek intercepts the ball -- Calallen Ball.
Now the Marker Arrow points South. Run Ryan Run. Big holes, and they would close fast. The Four Wildcats are: McClure, Duke, Matt and Nick.	Punter Trey Slusher punts it deep. 2 punts for 42 yard average. The McCallum punter average 27 yards per punt. Trey did better.
#64 Chance Schneider in on this tackle. #54 is senior John Giddings.	There goes Lucious on the keeper, and there goes #35 Sean Hoelscher as he hurdles over a Wildcat on the turf. in pursuit of the runner.
Ryan Duke does some blocking, trying to spring McClure free. Robert Ashby is doing a fine job also.	McClure follows his blockers. McClure was the top rusher in the game. 62 yards in 25 carries.
There goes #10, the senior sensation of McCallum, Lucious Henderson. He finished with 1 touchdown and 36 yards in 22 carries, and passed for 101 yards.	#7 Ryan Duke continues to do a fine job on his blocking assignments, McClure finds some running room.
First Down Play, but Lucious is gang-tackled for a five yard loss. The great hit happened on 3rd down of this series. The Calallen Defense was hot, better yet, on Fire!	Jeff Blankenship's Dad gets a high five from TD Club vice-president Steve after the Jeff-Andrew hit.
Ryan Duke, qb, junior, running for a few yards to run out the game clock. Ryan Duke wins the dual, his weapons, One touchdown, rushed for 21 yards, and fired for 127 yards. An outstanding performance against a very good Austin Team -- McCallum.	Alumnus Wes Danaher and Claudia Nell, they were present and supporting the Mighty Wildcats.
Ms. Anita Danaher and daughter, Brittany are here, they love it when the Wildcats win.	Meanwhile back on the playing field, the Flores brothers, Paul and sophomore Andrew almost got McClure free and into the end zone. Next play, qb Ryan Duke took the knee, and killed the clock, and won the game, and the duel with senior qb Lucious Henderson. Both qb, outstanding performance.
It's over Coach Phil C. Danaher chalks up victory number 310.	The two Foes exchange greetings and the sportmanship hand shake.

In the post game de-briefing, Coach Danaher had good words for the offense and especially the defense.	These coaches were just awesome in today's game. Very fine job.

This young man # 77 has potential, he keeps growing and getting bigger, and his friend.
Grandfather Abel Guerra, and granddaughter, the little graduate of the Cheerleading and Topcats Clinic, requested the photo with quarterback Ryan Duke, no doubt, he is certainly a role model for the younger children of the Calallen Community.
