The mighty and fightin' Wildcats win their own Calallen Baseball Tournament for the 9th straight season. Outstanding!

Calallen Wildcats claw the bigger Tigers from Carroll High. The score 8-3. Two Home runs; Ryan Duke had an in-the-park home run, and Steven Vidaurri blasted a Grand Slam Home run, which landed high in the bleachers. David DeLeon and Patrick Frasier were the dynamic duo this afternoon, DeLeon record is 5-0. Wildcats versus Alice Coyotes at Alice, Tuesday,7:00 pm. Be there and support the Fightin' Wildcats.

In the 7th Inning, Senior Ryan Duke beats the throw to first base --Safe. Ryan is so fast, he had an in-the-park home run earlier in the game. Matt Garza, courtesy runner for Guerrero moves to 2nd, and Marek walk and the bases are loaded.

And the Carroll coach decides that it is time for a pow wow. Calallen has the bases loaded, and #10 Steven Vidaurri is coming up to the plate. The Coach probably explained that this batter is South Texas number one home run hitter --- keep 'em low.

Calallen leading Carroll 4-3, Bases are loaded, Wildcat on 3rd is ready to come on home. Senior Steven "Texas State" Vidaurri on his 2nd strike drills the baseball over the fence -- Foul Ball! Down to one strike, he swings, he connects, the baseball is going, going, and one Csrroll out fielder leaps high..., (next photo, please.)

...and the baseball goes over the fence in center field, and the Carroll pitcher put his hands on his head, as if to say, what have I done? The ball lands between the Miller and Moody sign. Carroll #23 player is still hanging on to the fence. Calallen 8 Carroll 3.

Junior Logan Verrett #4 comes in and relieves DeLeon in the 6th. In the 7th inning, The Tigers, put up their last growl. Verrett had the bases loaded with 2 outs. He had two strikes..., (next photo please.)

...on the last threating Tiger. Logan fired his fast blazing ball and catches the batter looking. "Strike Three!" says the umpire. Guerrero starts for the dug out. Game over. Carroll Player stares in disbelief.

Coach Steve "2X State Champ" Champion gives a positive post game de-briefing.
