Calallen Wildcats prove once again, who the real Wildcats are. A fine Pitching Duel between #22 Casey Allen and #1 Chip Nance. Chip Nance pitches, wins and run his W-L season record to 8 - 2. Calallen Wildcats 3 GP 1. Defensive Play of the Game was the "Triple-play."

Calallen Stadium, May 21, 2005.

#1 Chip Nance on the mound, He picked his holes and corner very well, he fired a 2-hitter, and raised his W-L record to 8-2.

#1 Chip Nance fires his fast ball. the G-P Wildcat gets a lead off the base in an attempt to rattle Pitcher Nance.
#5 Tyler Marrou drills the ball and bounces it of the left field Wall. Good Hit! A stand-up double!	#15 Sean Hoelscher belts the ball to the fence also, a base hit double, and ...,
#5 Tyler Marrou sprints from 2nd base all the way to the home plate, and Wildcats lead 1-0. A lead they would not relinquished.	Catcher, #22 senior Luke McCall drops the 3rd strike ball, he picks it up, and quickly fires to Tyler on First -- In Time!
#4 senior Jonathan Vest makes the ball disappear over the center field wall -- A Home run! Real WIldcats over the other Wildcats 2-0.	Coach Steve "State Champ" Chapman and home-run hitter, Jonathan Vest gives a knuckle-high congratulatory greeting.
#8 Brandon Key runs 40 yards and grabs the Fly-ball for on out on the right-fence area, another yard, and Brandon Key would have crashed into the fence. Great Catch, his second of the game.	On a hot Saturday afternoon, the fans were rocking. Calallen Stadium was full.
Senior Jonathan Vest drills another homer over to the FFA department, his 2nd of the game.	Another Knuckle-sandwich in the Making with a happy coach Chapman.
#5 Tyler Marrou on First, checks the action on the mound -- just another strike for Chip Nance.	#2 Wesley Callihan who helped snuff-out a GP Rally with no-one out, Wesley made a tag for out #2 and fired to Tyler on First for out #3. The rare and spectacular Triple Play. My first ever, and for Varsity a memory for a lifetime. back to Wes, he belts a single!
After the out, Cory fires to Ryan Duke. Cory was on 2nd during the spectacular Triple play. McCall-to Cory, Cory to Wes, Wes to Tyler.	Chip Nance in cruise control, the storm had passed, and he would survived and move on to an 8-2 W-L record.
Have no fear, Tyler Marrou is here, the runner two yards away, the ball arrived in time, and the runner is history, Real Wildcats over the lesser Wildcats, 3-1. The 1 run was scored on a suicide-play by GP before the CHS Triple Play, The CHS were ready the 2nd time around.	The Scoreboard, the fifth inning, GP scored their only run. The rally killer came and demoralized GP. Chip had no problems on the last 6 outs of the game.

Gregory Portland's worst nightmare -- Calallen's fearsome foursome of (L-R) Jonathan Vest, 2 home-runs, Randy Hougton, DH, Ryan Duke, two hot shots to him, which he hot shot to First for outs, and Last but not least, Winning Pitcher, his eight win, his first game which had a triple-play. And 3rd Time Calallen whomped Gregory-Portland this season. Bring on Medina Valley!

#17 Ryan Duke drills a base hit.	#7 Ryan Miller goes in as a courtesy runner for #22 Luke McCall who just belted a Single. Coach Chapman returns to the 3rd base box.
#17 Ryan Duke scoops the hard liner, and fires just as fast, or faster to Tyler on First. In Time!	Chip Nance fires the fast ball past his pitcher competitor, #22 Casey Allen. Strike Three!
Here is Brandon Key after catching his first fly ball for a GP out.	An error in the making, the ball is dropped.
Chip checks the action on First Base, GP Runner is history.	After the out, Tyler fires over to Cory Chip, playing 2nd base.
Wes Callihan fires to Tyler Marrou for a spectacular triple play. What a wonderful memory this team will have in years to come. It was started by McCall pop-up Catch, chased the 2nd base runner to 2nd, fired to Cory, one of 2 runners on 2nd base, one breaks for third, Cory Schick fires to Wes who tags the advancing gp runner, and Wes sees Luke hollering "throw to first," Wes throws to First for the third out, and just demoralized the Coach and players. They were done for the afternoon. Their only rally with nobody out destroyed by a Calallen 5th Inning Triple-Out Play. Cool!	Here is ex-bat boy, who grew to be a fine CHS Varsity player, Wesley Callihan, owner of a triple-play action, and now in the 6th inning drills a base hit against #22 Casey Allen.
Tyler Marrou gts his 2nd hit in the game.	#26 Freshman Jeremy Marek comes in as a courtesy runner for Tyler Marrou. Freshman Marek has some speed; he ran the 400-yard dash on Varsity Track and qualified for State, running against upperclassmen, he placed in the top 10. Cool!
Jonathan Vest catches the final out of the ball game. It was only fair, the little leaguers loved him, he smashed two long home runs. Yep, Jon Vest, today, with the other Wildcats, they were super heroes.
The Umpire and CHS Help, Umpire, Abbey, Melissa, Mallory, Joe, and Kellyn.	The game post de-brief is over. Medina Valley is next. They beat Dripping Spring, Dripping Spring was a state-ranked top ten tean. Get Ready Wildcats.
Senior Tyler Marrou played a fine offense and defensive game today. He made the final out in the fantastic Triple.	Here is Shick and Shick, Dad and Son. Cory played a super game today, involved in the rare triple play, he contributed the 2nd out when he fired to Wes on third. Cool!
McCall and sister Stormy. Stormy, your brother was awesome this afternoon, caught the pop-up, and initiated the triple play. Great brother you have there.	Retired Little Leaguer Coach Yzaguirre, and another role model, Paul Flores, and another little leaguer.
