Calallen Wildcats Avenge their 2-1 Loss at Aviator Field, Wildcats were prepared this time and bounced the Pickers from sole possesion in District 31-4A. Calallen Bats silenced the two pitchers who beat them in the First Game. A.J. Sepulveda and Matt Flores. The Duke-Luke combo and Fightin' Wildcats proved Casey Stengal, Yankee Skipper, 7 World Series, axiom true GOOD PITCHING STOPS GOOD HITTING AND VICE-VERSA. Yes, the Wildcats had the axiom on its side, pitching and hitting.

The Military Drill Team bring the United States Flag into the playing field. These men have served in Iraq. Thank you men.	The Young man is Aaron Alaniz, CHS Freshman, who played an outstanding rendition of our National Anthem Song -- The Star Spangle Banner. Aaron picked the correct notes for the song words. He made his steel guitar come alive. His Mom, Mrs. Alaniz, Calallen Middle School Teacher.

Not even close, however, hitting Alonzo;s foot, messes his balance, and Daniel overthrows Jacob over on First Base.	Yep, #30 Jacob Kaup is bad, (Fish, Cool talk -- bad is good.) here he drills a stand-up double, and Wildcats produce the first two runs of the game. This was really all the runs the Wildcats would need, but the Wildcats went on to prove who is the best team in 31-4A, to the tune of 11 to 1, and the Mercy, Mercy rule had to be imposed or the Mighty Wildcats would have still been scoring.

Jonathan Vest runs around the bases. A very happy coach Steve "State Champ" congratulates the homer-hitter, Vest, his 2nd of the season.	Meanwhile, and later, the Duke and Luke show was on. Duke just off winning Saturday over Flour Bluff was on the mound. Against a very, very good Robstown Baseball Team. Strike One.
Duke fires to Luke, a curve ball -- Strike Two.	Luke and Duke got this game down pat SWING AND A MISS! STRIKE THREE! Not too shabby, 3 pitches, 3 strikes! The Cotton Picker is history!
Robstown Matt Flores fires a Wild Pitch; #4 Jonathan Vest on third races home, and Jon goes airboerne, and belly-lands and belly-swim strokes across the home plate. What a skillful player! The Robstown Fans on the other side of the net didn't really want to see Vest score.	The scoreboard: 11-1 runs, 7 in the 6th inning when the game was called due to the 10 run Mercy Rule. Duke and Luke allowed 6 hits, including a couple of jams where the Pickers loaded the bases, Coach Chapman had a pitcher warming up in the bull pen, should the young man Duke tire, but that's when he was at his best. Striking the Pickers out, two pickers in one bases-loaded incident. One error, that's an improvement from 3 errors last Saturday. The batter is not listed, but we know it was #17 Ryan Duke belting in the last 3 runs. Cool!
Yeah! You guys are bad! Luke and Duke!	Meet Mr. and Mrs Gilbert Vest and son Jon, Jonathan tore up the Pickers, Home-run, Hitting running, stealing and belly-landing scoring.
Brandon Key, right fielder, and his Dad. Brandon had one good catch in right field. When Duke pitches, he won't get many opportunities to catch any flies, won't hurt him any. Brandon also says "Hi" to his big brother Randy at Texas A & M, College Station>	Another Calallen "Bad-d-d Boy-y-y" as Lou Costello would say it, I like Lou's joke of "Who's on First?" Great hit, Jacob Kaup in the First Inning. His Dad, Skip, and Mom, June. Jacob has committed to play for Alvin Junior College.
Two fine coaches, Asa Chambless and Coach Steve Chapman, Power weight lifting and baseball, respectively, and both coaches have taken the team to the State Finals numerous times. Good Work, Men.	Calallen Student Coach Joe Luis, and friends, the gentlemen on the left taught the two youngsters on the right -- everything they should know about high school baseball. :-)

Good Catch in Center field, my camera cannot zoom that far.	#21 Daniel Alonzo deftly scoops the hard liner, and fires to Jacob Kaup at first base, in time!
Robstown #16 goes down swinging for the 3rd out of the inning.	#22 Luke McCall fouls a few balls before he finally drew a Walk.
Coach Rudy Salinals points a bad area on the base line to 2nd Base.	The Pickers pop it up high and toward their dug out, #30 Jacob Kaup runs over and puts it away for the out. Good catch!
Strike Three!	The Robstown Picker tries to steal 3rd base, Luke fires to Wesley Callihan who easily tags him out. One can see the Picker is about to slide into third, but Wes already has the ball.
The bottom of the 6th Inning. Pickers are still in the game, trailing by 3 runs. 4-1. Ryan Duke grounds out. and here Wes drills a Single to get the Wildcats started.	#8 Brandon Key hits a base-hit.

Jacob welcomes #21 Daniel home and for all intend and purpose, the game is over.	A.J. Sepulveda comes in to replace Pitcher Matt Flores, The Wildcats remember that it was Sepulveda who won game 1.
