Ten-run rally lifts CalallenHoelscher leads the Wildcats with two doubles, RBI

It wasn't the ten-run rule but a ten-run inning that led defending Class 4A state baseball champion Calallen to a series. sweep of San Antonio South San in a best-of-3 area playoff series Saturday.
The Wildcats used a 10-run fourth inning to rally from a five run deficit . en route to a 13-6 Game 2 victory to sweep the series at Calallen. High School Saturday.
Behind right-handed pitcher Ryan's Duke's one-hit shutout Friday night. (in which Duke struck out nine) in San Antonio, Calallen also won. the series opener, 8-0.
The District 31-4A runner-up Wildcats advance to the Region IV-4A. quarterfinals and will play either District 29-4A runner-up Beeville. or District 32-4A champion Brownsville Lopez later in the week at a date, time and location to be determined.
Sean Hoelscher (who had two doubles and an RBI) and Steven Vidaurri, (who had 3 RBI) had three hits each to key Calallen's 11 hit attack, while Ryan Miller pounded a two-run home run and Paul Flores, and Bucky Bryant combined for 4 RBI.
Ryan Duke also had a double and an RBI and Jeramie Marek added, a triple and an RBI to make a winner of the pitcher Hoelscher, who struck out five in pitching the complete game.
