Calallen Wildcats beat State Ranked #1 Waco Midway Panthers 10-3. Chip Nance was in control for six innings. He started to tire out, but Coach Chapman went to the bull pen and selected right fielder Brandon Key to quench the rally started by the Panthers. With Bases loaded Brandon came in and struck out the first two batters. Brando got the third batter to sent a long fly ball to the center field, which was caught by Jonathan Vest, and that was the end of Waco, and the beginning of the Calallen Champions celebration and reign for the year 2005-2006.

Calallen Fightin' Wildcats Win Class 4 Texas Baseball Championship Game 10-3. There is no doubt that they are number one, and are wearing the Gold and hoisting the State Championship Trophy.

Daniel Alonzo and Corey Shick come in for two runs. Daniel Alonzo was Selected: STATE BASEBALL ALL-TOURNAMENT, FIRST TEAM, 2ND BASE. Wildcats lead 2-1.
The Calallen Kid, Ryan Duke drills a Single to center field., Ryan Duke is also selected: STATE BASEBALL ALL-TOURNAMENT, FIRST TEAM, PITCHER. And...,	Ryan brings another run in. Here come Jacob Kaup across home plate for another score, Wildcats 3-1.
Ryan Duke is on First. First Baseman #18 is Zac Oliver. Zac pitched a fine game on Wednesday afternoon to eliminate Mongomery High School from the Texas State Tournament.	#1 Chip Nance, great control, great performance, just super through the State Playoffs. Chip Nance was selected as the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER in the State Tournament. He earned it. Just an awesome pitching performance.
Chip Nance gets the Panther to fly-out to right field, but have no fear, Brandon Key is here -- Out!	The Ump yells "" Strike Three" The Panther is outta here.
Jacob Kaup keeps the Panther close to First Base. The Panther did not score in the 2nd Inning, meaning the Panther was stranded on base.	The only action in the 2nd Inning was when Jon Vest drilled a double. Jonathan Vest was the 5th Wildcat Member to make STATE BASEBALL All-OURNAMENT, CENTER FIELD, FIRST TEAM.
The stands were full of Calallen Fans. I see Glenn Shick, Row One.	#22: Luke McCall gets things started in the third inning, base-hit Single.
#9 Corey Shick came to run for Luke McCall.	Jacob Kaup hits the ball, and on a fielder choice, they throw Corey Shick out at 2nd base.
WAM! #13 Randy Houghton drills a Single to center field, Kaup breaks for third, the Panthers try to get Jacob, Safe, and Randy Houghton, alertly, steals second.	Ryan Duke drills another Single. This young man definitely has an eye for the ball.
Two runs come in, and the Ump motions "Safe." Jacob and Randy came in to score. Wildcats 5-1, after three innings.	Zac keeps Ryan close to the bag.
The Panther drills the ball far, far -- Jonathan runs far, far and catches the ball in front of the 405' Wall. What a Catch. Just as good as the game ending catch he would make in the 7th inning.	Jacob was in the game, here he throws the ball to Corey after the catch and an out for the running Panther.
Is the score correct? The Calallen Wildcats 5-1 after 3 innings. This is suppose to be Waco Midway, Texas #1 ranked team.	Brandon Key #8 Walks in the Fourth, he would steal 2nd base.
The left hand batter gets a Single. Vest moves Brandon over to 3rd base.	Senior Daniel Alonzito" drills it to center field, and bounces the ball of the wall.
There he sprints #21 for a stand-up double.
Brandon Key comes in to score.	Luke McCall is hot with the bat -- Slam, he has a double.
#22 Luke McCall runs for 2nd base -- Safe!	The courtesy runner for Luke McCall will be #9 Corey Shick..
The great Jacob goes down fighting and swinging. Strike Three!	Randy Houghton gets a Single, and Corey Shick scores. The throw is late, and Randy steals 2nd.
"Bring me home" yells Randy Houghton.	Ryan Duke tries to bring Randy home, but he is thrown out at first on a grounder.
#2 Wes Callihan belts the ball down the right field line, and runs all the way into 2nd base for a double.	heerree's Wes on 2nd base.
And here is Randy Houghton scoring. Wildcats 10-1. What a rout!	After 3 and 1/2 inning, the Wildcats lead 10-1. Keep fighting, Teams can rally and come back.
Senior Brandon Riley, playing First Base, after getting knocked off the mound. Brandon was 12-1 going into the Championship game. Meet Brandon and Brandon. Our Brandon got a Walk and it is the 5th inning.	#4 All-Tourney Jonathan Vest drills a 2-bagger. Brandon Key goes to 3rd Base, however, both Wildcats would be stranded on base. Waco Midway had a defense that wasn't too shabby.	#4 All-Tourney Jonathan Vest runs down to about the 400' and makes an awesome catch.
Ball four hits the ground, and #30 All Tourney, Jacob Kaup draws the Walk in the top of the 7th inning.	#30 Jacob Kaup, All-Tourney, comes off the field, and Jeremy Marek will be the courtesy runner.
Brandon Riley now has the duty of keeping the courtesy runner #26 freshman Jeremy Marek on 1st Base.
The scoreboard shows it was the top of the 7th inning, when the 95 degrees hot weather got to Chip Nance, the Panthers had found Chip tiring in the 6th inning, and they scored two runs, closing the gap to 10-3 Calallen

#2 Wes Callihan drills a double. The kid continues to help Calallen win games.	#4 Jonathan Vest draws a Walk, and listens to instructions from Coach Salinas, First Base Box Coach. Both Wes and Jonathan were left on base, when the Wildcats could not bring them in.
The Fans were happy, the Cheerleaders cheering, score 10-3 Calallen.	In the 7th Inning, Chip hit the phenomenon known as "hitting the brick wall", he was still hot, but it was a different hot like a sweating hot, Chip could not find the strike zone; he loaded the bases with Red Panthers, they had a rally started

He is making a pitcher change.	#8 Brandon Key, senior, gets the nod. The one guy the Panthers did not want to see, earlier they had picked Brandon off First Base, and Coach Salinas had a few words with Brandon, Now Brandon Key had his chance to get even with the Red Panthers. "Pick me off first base -- take that!" Brandon fires his super fast pitch striking out #22 senior Alberto Lopez out number one. Two to go.	"yeah, it is in there. You are history!" Pitcher Brandon Key strikes out #19 junior Dustin Dickerson. Out #2, one to go.
Here comes the breaking ball, #10 Tim Hartland drills it far, far into center field where Jon Vest waits for it, catches, makes the Victory Sign with his Arm Games over.	The Celebration: The Wild Pile begins, the Cat Pile. Check Panther Tim, he knew it was going to be caught. You can see half of Vest Victory Sign out in Center Field. Wildcats Win State 10-3.
The Cat Pile continues. Rookie Assistant Varsity Coach Rudy Salinas and Coach Chapman gives each other the high-five. Way to start your new position Rudy Salinas.	It was 8:30 when the Wildcats won 10-3 over the Panthers. It is now one minute into the Celebration.

Larry and Ryan Duke. Yesterday, they showed me the Grand Slam Baseball, today the Gold, both are an outstanding accomplishment for the young sophomore.	The very happy Key Family, Brandon played great defense in the outfield, and came in to terminate the Panthers in the 7th inning 2 strike outs, and one in the air for Jon Vest to catch. That was cool Brandon.
They didn't need a sign to tell us that they were the 2005 State Champions. Congratulation Wildcats on the School's 2nd State Championship Victory.

Thorndale High wins Class A State Championship game over Harleton 10-5 in 8 innings.	More Thorndale players showing their State Trophy. They beat New Deal High on Wednesday 20-0 in five inning. They are deserving of todays victory.
There were many CHS teens in the stands and cheering for the pride and joy of South Texas, Calallen Wildcats.	Chase Wauson, last year baseball regional finals, and his friend Paige Arnold, super star on the CHS Girls Soccer Team.
Brother and Sister, Cody and Paige Arnold. Cody will be a CHS Freshman this coming Fall. Ryan Arnold of Football, Track and Soccer is the brother of these two.	The 2nd base players warm-up during pre-game drills.
Introduction of the Wildcats: Jonathan Vest, Daniel Alonzo, Jacob Kaup, and joining them is Randy Houghton.	#25 Brandon Riley has been tasked to be the starting pitcher, 12-1 not too shabby a record.
#1 Chip Nance was hot -- Strike Three; #7 is junior Caleb Shofner, 2nd base.	Another Panther, junior Travis Beaird strikes out to the dynamic duo, Luke McCall and Chip Nance.

The celebration continues over by the Net, as Vest and others are congratulated by the CHS Teen sporting C-TOWNCATS.
