Review of Season Ending Finali at Girls/Boys 2005 State Meet.

Calallen High School 2005 Power Weight lifting Team: Lady Wildcat Girls win Second Place at State Meet in Killeen, Texas.	Senior Jordan Scott captures State First Place in her 132 Weight Class, outstanding lifter Award, a Five Hundred Dollar Scholarship to a college of her choice. Superior performance. In the past Three State meet, she has won First Place Twice, and one Second Place.
Lana Garcia, 105 Weight Class, Wins First place at State, in a come from behind win.	132 Weight Class: Senior Daniel Brubaker Squats 470 pounds. Total: 1170 pounds, State 2nd Place.
148 Weight Class: Michael Price Squats 505 pounds. Total 1305 pounds, State 3rd Place	Coach Asa Chambless brings his two State Qualifiers, and both come through. Michael Price 3rd Place, 148 Weight Class, and Daniel Brubaker 2nd Place, 132 Weight Class

Board of Education, President Brent and Mrs. Burkhart are here. Brent is doing a fine job as a trustee. He supports the community and school functions.	The Junior Class of Powerlifters. They'll be back in 2006.
The Class of 2005 won't be back, but they left some records in South Texas, Daniel Brubaker and Michael Price placed 2nd and 3rd place in Houston THSPATexas State Meet, respectively.	The Class of 2005 Lady Wildcats was awesome this year, Lana Garcia and Jordan Scott won First Place at Killeen Texas THSWPA State Meet.
Coach Jim Cliburn, Best Football Offensive Coordinator in South Texas, is here assisting Coach Chambless in handing the Powerlifting Awards. Janet and I are presented with that Award. Thank you so much, Coach Chambless, Coach Cliburn, and Parents, Wildcats and administrators for the award and standing ovation. It was an awesome gesture.	Coach Chambless awards another award to a hard working supporter and assistant to the banquet.
2005 State Champions Lana Garcia, 105 weight Class and Jordan Scott 132 Weight Class. Jordan was also awarded a $500 for any college of her choice.	State Finals, 3rd Place, Michael Price, 148 weight class, and 2nd Place Daniel Brubaker, 132 Weight Class. Here they display their Most Valuable Lifter Award.
Daniel Brubaker presents a "Thank You" and appreciation gift to Coach Asa Chambless.	Senior Wes Huff present Coach Chambless with a gift and for fine job on Coach Chambless. Coach Chambless has been taking his weight lifters, boys and girls, to State since his first year as Coach of the Powerlifting Teams.
The PowerLifting Girls also present the Coach with some gifts and envelopes. The girls have been outstanding. Two State Champs in 2005, Awesome. State Champ Lana Garcia has made the University of Texas Cheerleading Squad. That is a fine honor of a hard working Lady Wildcat/Cheerleader.	Lana Garcia is already on the University of Texas Web Site. She's got a great smiling photo in there.

All these Wildcats did an outstanding job in powerlifting in 2005.	3rd Place State Champ, Michael Price. His family is just awesome, they go to all his games and meets. Football, Track and Powerlifting.

Texas Second Place Trophy brought home by the Lady Wildcats. Congratulations. They almost won First Place, missing by one point.	The Awards and Trophy Table was awesome. Little did I know, Janet and I were getting a Lifting Trophy. Just Cool.
The THSWPA Cake. Super dessert, soft, moist, and melts in the mouth. Yum Yum.	The boys THSPA Cake, I don't choose sides on the boys/girls , so to be fair, I had a piece of this cake, also. Ahh, super soft and tasty.
Granddad Harvey and his granddaughter, Jolie.	Jamy and Jolie's Mom, which is Jamy's sister. Jamy was also awarded a trophy for volunteering her time in the meets, all year long. Her Calallen 2004 record of powerlifting total of 970 pounds still stands. (The 181 Weight Class).
Success in any Banquet, requires outstanding food, and Chela's Restaurant is a good place to eat. They fill the plate with plenty of food.	Jamy and her Mom, Mrs. Harvey, The Harvey Family have always been a great help to Coach Chambless and the powerlifting team.
The Stephen Perales Corner. Stephen Perales, a freshmen, took 1st Place in Pleasanton, Calallen and the Gregory-Portland Meets.	Eddie Duarte and friends. Eddie did good in the Pleasanton and Calallen Meet. Winning First in both Meet. Eddie is a Sophomore.

Early arrivals got some good seating. Later, it bloomed to a full house.	Waiting for the Powerlifting to start, Credit goes to the Restaurant as they brought in more tables and chairs. Everyone loves Coach Chambless Banquet, Once again, Coach Chambless Banquets continues to grow, year after year.
Andrew Quillin, with an injured shoulder, was able to win 2nd place at Pleasanton, and 4th at Calallen.	Twice Champion Lana Garcia and Daniel Brubaker, 2nd Place State, 2005, 3rd Place, 2004.
Chela's Restaurant begins to fill up. Great smiles, Ladies.	Everyone is enjoying the fine food.
Two good supporters and volunteer workers. They also got a Powerlifter Trophy.	Jeff Blanketship took 1st place in the Calallen Powerlift Meet, and State Champion, Jordan Scott. Jordan Scott set 2005 Squat Lifting State Records (Twice in 2005 State). One strong Lady Wildcat.
Ralph Garcia won 4 Meets, First Place, and in Regional he placed 3rd. He was on the State Alternate List.	Justin Felder and Andrew Quillin, Justin Felder won 1st as a JV at the Pleasanton Meet, and moved up to the Varsity, where he did quite well. Justin is a hard worker, an alternate to the State Meet, he was a safety spotter for Champions Daniel Brubaker and Michael Price. Keep an eye on this young man in 2006.
Adminstrators, Lynn Dodge, Principal; Coach Jim and Linda Cliburn. All three have just been outstanding in support of Academics and Athletes at Calallen High School.	Here is Bobby and Pam Poncik, their daughter Deena worked super hard, and made it all the way to State. Deena is also into track, and she does quite well.
Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Quillin, Sr. Here in support of Andrew. Jeff also has a son who a few year back was a Calallen outstanding baseball player, Jeff Quillin, Jr.	Two newcomers, and I don't know their names, yet.
Allison Byerly and her Mom and Dad. Allison lifted quite well all season long, and was exceptional at Regional and State, where she contributed one point to the team total at Regional and State, and that is super.
I think this young man is Brandon Estes. He captured 1st in the Bishop Meet. His family.	Arriving, Kelsey, Cheerleader, Chance Schneider, and Chance's Mom.
Gabby and her Mom, Mrs. Gaona. Gabby also played basketball on the Girl's basketball team. Another young lady who made it all the way to the State Finals.	Michael Price's Grandmother, she is waiting for her daughters and grandchildren.

State Finalist, Sarah Rasmusson, with her Mom and Dad. Sarah made the top 10 at State, in the 148 weight class, and she did her personal best of a total lift of 750.	Board of Education Member, Mrs. Yolanda Villarreal, a hard worker and supports the Community and School.

Calallen Graduate, Jamy Harvey, she has been one super powerlifting judge. She was superb.
Gabby receives her Trophy, nice looking trophy and it has a lifter doing the Bar-loading Deadlift. Gabby placed 9th at state in the 148 weight class.	Gabby and Chance get special recognition.
So does Kindred McClure and Brandon Estes.	Deena and Sarah, they had a good season in Girls Powerlifting, and had fun all the way to State.
Ashlee Lopez, she also made it to state, Ashlee placed 6th at State, she will be back in 2006.	Jon Gaona and Justin Felder, both had a great season, their accomplishents will be listed on the powerlifting 2005 best.
Wes Huff and Ralph Garcia were just terrific in weight lifting all year. Had Wes not gotten the Flu before the Regional Meet, he would have made it to State. Ralph was a state-alternate.	Jodie Samford, 2005 Area Softball Champion, Jodie took First Place in the Calallen Meet in the 97 weight class.
