Calallen little Wildcats claw and rip the Big and Fat Cougars from New Braunfels Canyon 14-13. The Wildcats' offense complements the Calallen Wildcats Defense. Fine display of offensive strategy in scoring and in running 4:11 seconds of the game clock to preserve the Wildcat Victory. The Cougars had one last chance to tie the game, and the PAT kicker hit the left vertical upright post and bounced back to the playing field. It will be the first photo posted in this weeks photos. Like I always say; when the rough gets tough, it is the tough that gets rough. Calallen Fans, lets go to Victoria, on Saturday, 2 pm, and cheer the pride and joy of South Texas to Victory.

The score 14-13, Calallen leading, NB Canyon's Reece Zunker has an opportunity to tie the game. He kicks, going, going, -- KLONK! the football hits the left goal post and harmlessly falls back into the playing field. 4:11 time left on the game clock. The offense comes through; they run the clock out as Ryan Duke and Kindred McClure each got a First Down in the last 4 minutes for the Wildcats. The Wildcats will now prepare for the Brenham Cubs on Saturday at 2:00 pm in Victoria. TAKE IT ALL THE WAY TO STATE.

Junior quarterback Ryan Duke takes the football to the 3-yard line.	And from the 3-yd line, #3 Kindred McClure took it in for the touchdown.
The dynamic duo, Jeramie Marek and Ben Fair misses the extra point. Wildcats lead 6-0.	The Cheerleaders flip per point. Lacy Covey does the first flip.

#42 Jeff Blanketship stopped the Cougar for no gain. Nice high leap by #35 Sean Hoelscher.
Cougar qb J.D. Kunz finds his receiver open, fires, and it is a First Down! #34 Landon Botkin had applied the pass pressure.	#53 Andrew Quillin makes a no-gain tackle. Good Work, Andy!

Ryan Duke checks the pursuit, he gains 30 yards, 35, 40 and finally brought down after a great run of 41 big yards, and it is a First Down. Great Run, Ryan Duke! Great Block Nick Hernandez!	Great move by #41 Bryan Farris, he gets behind the defender, makes the reception...,
and leaps over the second would-be tackler, and falls for the First Down. One reception today, and led the Calallen receivers with 28 yards.	#3 Kindred McClure, a work horse today, the top game rusher with 157 yards in 38 attempts, and not one first down prettier than his last one in the last 3-minutes of the football contest.
Sam Oelschlegel, 2 carries one yard, 1 reception 6 yards. #11 Cameron Henks pats him on the back for a fine competitive try.	Another fine run by junior Ryan Duke.
7 Ryan Duke is on the five, on a first down and goal, Five, four, three, two, one -- Touchdown...,	and Ryan Duke's number is called again for the 2-point conversions. Not pretty but it counts, and the Fightin' Wildcats take a 14-0 lead.
Ben Fair on the kick-off, looks like a low liner.	With 1:22 on the game Clock, Calallen was in the lead 14-0.
The defense who has been yielding 10 points to the opposition, have a 14-0 lead.	And just like that, the NB Canyon Cougars came right back with a 62-yard pass, and the Cougars were on the 2 and goal, and the qb J.D. Kunz took it in and made it a ball game.
14-7at half-time.	The Top Cats on a jingle-rock musical. Very entertaining.
The Pride of South Texas does another outstanding performance.

Captain #43 Trey Slusher opts to receive, so the umpire moves him toward the North Goal. #11 is Cameron Henks and he is 6-5, 210 lbs. Not bad.	The Wildcats receive and are 3 an out, theretofore, #43 Trey Slusher punts it way. Today 1 punt for 28. The other punt he attempted never materielize, so I guess he got charge with a carry.
#9 Bucky Bryant is about to bring this Cougar to the turf. Bucky would also knocked the pass away from a potential receiver. Good Work, Bucky!
A litttle Wildcat is trapped by four big Cougars. This could be where Trey Slusher attempted punt was stifle. (Can't tell if the number is 43 or 3, in which case it would be McClure -- YOU BE THE JUDGE.	Kindred McClure in his best game ever against some mighty big and tough Cougars, and one Canyon Defender is the Texas State Power Wieght Lifter Champion in the super heavy weights.

Still zigging, juking, zagging, until he is brought down, but not before he got his First Down! #7 Ryan Duke, this afternoon: 20 rushing attempts for 136 yards, one Touchdown, one two-point conversion, and 46 passing yards. Not too Shabby, junior Ryan Duke of the Calallen Fightin' Wildcats.	#88 Eric Skolaut, senior will be in this tackle on #3 Kindred McClure of the Fightin' Wildcats.
The Cougars pile on the runner, and the runner is...,	#3 Kindrid "Speedy" McClure.
The Wildcats make a first down.	Third and two, for the Calallen Fightin' Wildcats, The Cougars defense was showing signs of fatigue.
McClure on the carry, #32 Kirk Michalec and #88 Eric Skolaut would make the stop for the NBC Cougars.	McClure cleverly pushes the ball for extra few inches.
#72 Darren Billiot is the Texas State Power Weight Lifer Champion in Texas. As big as he is, looks like he will repeat 5-9, 270 lbs. On Wildcat offense, looks like Andrew Q. Ryan D. Nick H. Paul F. and Robert A. More important, Ryan Duke would run and be short one-quarter inch from a First Down.	For lack of a quarter inch, the Cougars had a 90-yard td by #33 Chase Wilke. Miracles do happen, going going - Blonk and the football bounces back into the playing field.
#72 Darren fought the good fight. Ryan Duke makes a critical time-killing First down!	The Wildcats continue to milk the clock, #3 Kindred McClure also made a time-killing first down.
False alarm on the clock, #9 senior Jerris Springfield was feeling the agony of losing.	The Cougar's Coach tells his team to get back on the bench -- game is not over yet!
Cougar Coach is right, the umpire has put 4 seconds back on the game clock.	The Cougars die a second time, when Calallen qb fades back and drops to his knee as time runs out, and the Calallen Fightin' Wildcats are the REGION 4 CHAMPIONS --And that is why they are the pride and joy of South Texas.
The final score is 14-13. One heck of an awesome offense displayed by the Fightin' Wildcats.

Eloy and his dad, Mr. Zapata. Eloy plays on special teams.	Audra Nell, I once took her picture with Wes Danaher, Calallen and Texas most prolific runner in Class IV. Wes' record still stands, 8855 rushing yards in all classifications.
Seniors Justin Carbajal and Bucky Bryant brought home the Region IV Championship Golden Trophy. Make room in that already crowded trophy room.	Let's show some Junior Varsity players.whose turn to shine will be in 2006.

The Calallen High School Football Defense were effective again, in holding the opposition to two touchdowns or less.
